"Hexplore," one of the underrated RPGs of 1998, presents the journey of the adventurer MacBride as he pursues a dark wizard who raided and oppressed the village of Zarko in the year 1000 AD. The game introduces new mechanics, such as the ability to rotate the camera by using a compass and playing as a group with side characters.
The gameplay is simple, reminiscent of a typical hack 'n slash like Diablo. Lack of details in characters and items a bit boring about gameplay. However, Hexplore stands out by allowing the player to play as a team. As you progress in the game, If you accept requests to join the adventure of MacBride, you can select and control one character, while the game takes over the rest of the group.
Hexplore may not appeal to players who are not familiar with it, and even fans of the genre may find it boring. Nevertheless, those who have played the demo or played it before might find it interesting to replay it. Game is still available on GOG platform.
